The fire pump is considered to be the heart of the Fire Protection system. Inspections are to make sure the fire pump assembly is free of damage and operates as it’s designed to. When conducting a fire pump inspection we check for proper heating and ventilation, valves, gauge readings, electrical system conditions, fuel and oil levels. We also check for proper voltage, amperage, and RPMs.
Fire Pump Testing
Fire Pump Flow and No- Flow Test is completed during fire pump testing. Depending on the fire pump system a weekly or a monthly test may be required, making sure the pump operates properly without flowing water and can automatically start. A fire pump flow test is required annually and verifies the pumps performance during different conditions.
